After a few good years without nightmares and new memories coming to the surface, I think I became a little complacent about what I needed to protect myself .  One night while watching a movie with Kevin Bacon in it called Sleepers, I was totally caught off guard and  majorly triggered, which landed me back into therapy for several months. This song was written to my inner child to let her know I would NEVER forget what happened to her.TO FORGIVE IS NOT TO FORGET. To this day my husband helps me to screen the content of movies for potential triggers. ( P.S. and ever since I refuse to watch any movies with Kevin Bacon)
