Sometimes it seems as though I have it figured out
But then I change direction and take a different route
I stumble along, and do it all wrong
Not living my life One Day at a Time.

    I think I'm gonna.....
Stop trying to force the river I know it doesn't work
Cuz everytime I take control it only hurts
I'm running the show, and God only knows
I need to be living One Day at a Time.

     And so I'm gonna.....
Go back to the drawing board and start all over again
This time I think I'm gonna ask for help from Him
Then maybe I'll know, which way I should go
To live my life One Day at a Time.

Just feel so free when I let go of all the pain
And when it's done I know I'll feel alive again
Please help me to learn, this won't always burn
