This song was written in the mid 90's when I held a middle management position at a local hospital. The words reflect the internal struggle I was going through trying to discern whether the job was the right one for me. The issue wasn't whether I COULD DO the job or not, it was whether I WANTED TO. My previous work had always been in direct service with patient care from which I received much gratification, and this job often left me feeling frustrated and powerless to make any positive changes.
